Residential fee
Includes housing (two youth per dorm room), all meals and snacks and great daytime and evening activities on and around campus. Commuter camp fees include daytime activities, lunch and snacks. Camps are open to all. Space is limited and camps will fill on a first-come, first served basis. We reserve the right to cancel camp and refund fees as necessary.

Health form
A health form must be submitted prior to camp.

Refund policy
Refund minus $20 processing fee up to May 7 (substitutions allowed)

Scholarships
Fill out the application and return it with your registration and full payment.  If you are a recipient, the scholarship amount will be refunded to you.

Build-a-business July 22-26

Got a bright idea? Build-a-Business is for teens who want to explore what it takes to be a young entrepreneur and how to get started! Learn while having fun with other young innovators who are ready to turn their ideas into reality. Make connections with MU faculty, students and community entrepreneurs who can provide you with encouragement and advice. Discover all that MU offers to student entrepreneurs just starting out. Gain skills for planning and starting your own business as a teen now!

Director’s cut July 15-19

Do you enjoy watching movies?  Would you like to move out of the audience and become part of the movie making process?  If so, this camp is for you!  You will get a chance to participate in all parts of the movie business from script writing to acting to filming to editing and everything in between.  All while learning from professionals currently working in the film industry.  Lights, Camera, Action!  See you there.

Dog days of summer  July 22-26

Session is FULL

Are you a friend of all animals you meet?  Do you enjoy science and solving mysteries?  A career in the veterinary science field may be in your future.  Come get a behind the scenes look at one of the top Colleges of Veterinary Medicine in the country.  You’ll get a chance to practice lab skills, operate on mock patients and observe veterinarians in practice with animals of all sizes.  These activities will give you a glimpse into the life of a veterinarian and allow you the chance to explore the many career options available.

GeoTech July 15-19

Do you like maps? Are you interested in the latest geospatial technology such as GoogleEarth, GPS, GIS and Remote Sensing? Would you like to GeoCache or create “mashups” in GoogleEarth? At GeoTech, you will learn how to use these devices and spend time exploring a cave. We will collect and analyze geographic information and then use the geographic laboratory to plot your data on maps. Interested? Then grab a flashlight and show up at N38° 56.579 W092° 19.633 and be ready for fun and action.

Survival for life (military youth only) July 22-26

For other summer opportunities for military youth, see events.

Learn skills to survive the outdoors, school and life. Activities will include outdoor skills such as campfire cooking and orienteering, life skills to help you cope with the deployment cycle and information about resources available to you on campus. You will also get a chance to meet other military youth. This camp is only available to military youth with a close family relative who is serving on active duty, Reserves or National Guard. Preference will go to youth with a family member currently or recently deployed.

Scrub-in to a health career July 15-19

Session is FULL

Are you someone who knows exactly where the first aid kit is and how to use it? Do you like to help others? Are you interested in math and science? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this camp is for you! Spend time exploring different health careers through hands-on experiences, guest speakers and opportunities at the University Hospital. Learn what it takes to be a doctor, nurse, physical therapist, dentist, pharmacist and many other positions in the health field. Discover all the possibilities!

Summer science extravaganza July 15-19

Session is FULL

Join us this summer for the Summer Science Extravaganza. Our camp offers students outstanding opportunities to learn cutting edge science and experience college life at MU. Investigate DNA and build a stronger understanding of plant biology and biotechnology. Create videos to post on YouTube documenting your science learning and experiences with college life at MU this summer. Costs for our camp are partially funded through a grant from the Bond Life Sciences Center, substantially reducing your camp expense. Join us this summer for a fun filled week of scientific investigations at MU!

Bicycle boot camp July 22-26

Do you like to bike? Did you know it’s possible to bike year round, play games on bikes and travel by bike? Would you like to be able to bike to the store, to school, to work or even around the world? It’s possible and you can do it! Learn to keep your bike in top working order with basic bike mechanics, learn to bike safely and legally anywhere you want to go through bike skill drills and explore Columbia by bike. You are encouraged to bring your own bike and helmet to camp.
