State Horse Judging Contest and Clinic 2008

March 15, 2008
Columbia, MO

Marginal weather didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of 150 4-H members who participated in the state 4-H Horse Judging Contest and Clinic held on University of Missouri campus in Trowbridge Livestock Center Saturday, March 15, 2008.  The contest helps to reinforce member’s project skills as it relates to their equine projects and gives an opportunity for them to work on life skills like public speaking, decision making, and goal setting.

This year’s top senior team is from Mercer County and they have placed 2nd in the contest the past two years.  The team’s dedication and hard work has paid off as they will represent Missouri 4-H at the National Horse Judging Contest in Louisville, KY in November. The Gentry County junior division team has placed 1st in the past three state contests.
